Thank you so much to Buffyfest and Whedonesque.com for posting about Across the Whedonverse. We are very grateful to have their support. Both are sites that we have followed for some time and it feels wonderful to have the community coming together to spread the word and support our little celebration of all things Joss.
Greetings!
Inspired by the quote, “Write it. Shoot it. Publish it. Crochet it, sauté it, whatever. MAKE.” by Joss Whedon, Lusty Kitten Productions is assembling a celebration of fan love in many different forms for our upcoming show, "Across the Whedonverse". "Across the Whedonverse" will be held on Friday, February 7th 2014, at the Fais Do Do Ballroom - co-hosted with the help of our good friends at Peepshow Menagerie. We are seeking burlesque, art, fiction, costumes, crafty vending - if you love Joss, we'd love your submissions. We would like "Across the Whedonverse" to represent as many of Whedon's works as possible. (For a full list, check out his IMDB page). Everything from Toy Story to Angel, from Cabin in the Woods to Avengers, from Firefly to Much Ado About Nothing, is fair game. Let your fan love run free! Please send digital images/files of fan art, fan fiction, fan videos, fan films, fan cupcakes or fan toilet paper to info @ lustykitten.com by January 31st. We don't care what it is, we want to see your love for Joss and we want you to be able to share it with other Whedon fans. 2D pieces should be no larger than 21x18. Selected participants will be required to provide a size appropriate easel (if applicable) as well a 3x5 title card including the following: Title, Medium, Year, Size (width x height). If participant is not local to LA, they will be responsible for shipping, insurance & packaging their art to and from the event. Because this is a fan-centric event, no art sales can take place at the event unless artists are also a vendor and all sales are then subjected to a 10% fee from all sales to the producers. Vendors are guaranteed a 3x2 foot booth space near the venue entrance. An artist could conceivably have a piece in the art show and also a booth space. Being huge Joss fans ourselves, we are excited to bring our blend of sexy fun and convention geekery to the stage. If you are unable to participate, but, you or someone you know would like to attend the event, you can purchase tickets at www.acrossthewhedonverse.com Yours in geekery & glitter, Mae Lust & Spy Kitten Co-Producers, Lusty Kitten Productions "Fandom events...with a lusty twist" |
